Hand History Discussions Posted 1 year, 8 months ago

Hi all,

Not all poker players will play the same hand the same way, if you get a room full of poker players and a certain hand pops into discussions, no doubt there will be many arguments about how each player would have played the hand differently.

The information people give away while in these arguments and discussions can be invaluable in giving insight to how other people view the game of poker and obsorbing this information will with no doubt help to develop ones game.

In an attempt to get this forum a little more active and to continue the quest to progress the KPL into the premium poker league in New Zealand. I sugest that anyone who has any interesting hands that you either would like some advice on or just want to hear what other peoples views are. That they post them on these forums with the title starting with HH then a quick desciption.

Whether its at the KPL, at a home game, online or where ever. Its could be any game eg Limit HOldm, NL Holdem, Omaha Razz Stud 8 or whatever.

Try to include as much information as possible with out dragging it on too much. If you could copy and paste a HH off an online site do it, otherwise make sure to inlcude these points.

1. Game type and either Tourney, Ring game or SnG.
2. Your position during the hand.
3. How many players at the table
4. Clearly distinguish each betting round eg Pre Flop, Flop, Turn and River betting.

Hopfully this will take off and we will have some healthy discussions beginning to pop up. Try and keep it friendly and there are no wrong answers.

Cheers From

ALSO: I doesnt really have to be a Hand History. It could also just be a interesting situation that happens while ur playing.

HH Heads up final table $500 carbon poker free Posted 1 year, 8 months ago
Last Updated 1 year, 8 months ago
Ok so this happened about 5mins ago and i thought this would be a good hand to start off with.

I have been playing this tourney for three hours it started with 198 ppl and was a first deposit freeroll on Carbon poker. i had been coming about 3rd or 4 the whole final table until the final three and i got it all in three ways and came out chip lead by about 10k.

stacks are about Me 160k Him 150k
blinds are 8k and 4k.

i am in Small blind for 4k and i raise to 24k with AKoff.

He then instantly reraises to 45k

i think for about 5 seconds about the possibility of a pocket pair and then ship it on him any way

He then insta calls with AA i flop a K and then turn a str8 draw and miss everything on the river.

Should i have been able to fold this due to the speed of his play??

I think if i called and flopped the K i still would have been all in after that anyway so the only way to survive the hand would have been to fold pre-flop.

Interested to hear other people thoughts.

PS bare in mind that the jump between payments was $100 for 2nd and $150 for First. This my not make a difference but.

I personally think its almost never wrong to get all your chips in heads up with AK pre.. just unlucky he showed up with one of the only 2 hands that have you donminated. With hands like qq, jj and 10,10 how ever i really like seeing flops because it adds a lot of equity to you hand when you are up against AK AQ etc. because preflop AK vs QQ these hands are about 50/50 but if you can take a flop with QQ and bet the AK of an unconnecting flop you increase the QQ value to 70/30 (because the AK will only connect with the flop 30% of the time but will connect by the river about 50%)
