Kiwi Poker League
We’re a New Zealand based, professionally organised league. Registration is free and there are events held at local bars and pubs throughout New Zealand each week.
We also organise fun 'social poker' events. Casino nights are currently one of the most popular social and corporate events for businesses, groups and teams.
Fun 'Social Poker Nights'
We can cater for 8 to 80 people and can tailor a package to meet your requirements, just contact us on: 021 142 7482 to find out more information.
Here is what some of our customers said about Kiwi Poker League 'Social Poker Event':
We approached Kiwi Poker League to run a Social Night / Fundraiser for our squash club. They were very professional, the night ran smoothly and above all it was a lot of fun. The majority of our members had played little or no poker before, but with some expert tuition on the night, they were up and running in no time. We had so much good feedback from members that we are having another night this year.
Tom van der Zanden President Sunnyvale Squash Club
Social Club Outing
Thoughts again to what to do and the idea was arrange to have a poker evening. The boys at Kiwi Pokerleague were contacted. No mistake here they came up with the goods. The evening was arranged and they were the best hosts to have, from teaching those that had only played snap to those that thought they were the sharks in the pack. The night went well with general banter, conversation and due to the concentration and battles going around at each of the tables the entertainment was at its best, even for the poor souls that where knocked out as the blinds starting to get up up up. I was amazed at the staff commitment to out playing there work mates on this level playing field supplied by Kiwi Pokerleague with their help and commitment to everyone involved having a fun night. We supplied our own venue but they have access to many areas to hold this type of event. Rated. This has to be a must for any company to have a go at. They have the gear and the knowledge of the game to make any night a bit different than the usual works night out. I would recommend Kiwi Pokerleague for your next work night event.

Here's how points this year is going to work!
MORE BIG TOURNAMENTS
MORE PRIZES
MORE TRIPS TO AUSTRALIA
EVERY REGIONAL FINAL TWO PLAYERS WILL NOW GO TO AUSTRALIA TO PLAY FOR CASH!
1st place prize for the regional final will still be a trip to Australia but this time you are going to the Crown Casino in Melbourne and you will be playing a tournament with a $20,000 cash prize pool. (Prize includes, Flights, accommodation and entry fee to available tournament.) 2nd place = $200 3rd place = $150 4th place = $100 5th place =$50 (2nd-5th prizes based on a $500 pool) To gain entry to the regionals you need to score in the top 6 with points at your venue
The other lucky player to win the trip to Aussie will be one of the top point scorers of the season.
The top player with the most points from each venue at the end of the season will be invited to compete in a winner takes all bonus tournament on the same day as the regional final. He or she will play a knock out tournament where first place is a trip to Aussie's crown casino! (and as an added bonus the player with the most total points for the season overall will receive an extra $1000 chip to start the winner takes all game with) *Throughout the year KPL will be looking for sponsorship so note extra prizes are likely to be added on top of the main prizes
Another new change to the KPL structure is: seasons will be slightly longer (3months) but in between main event regionals that are held in Dunedin there will be bonus monthly mini regionals held away from Dunedin!
so the last weekend of each month there will be a big tournament with cash prizes and every 3 months there will be a main event regional with 2 trips to Aussie up for grabs!

Christmas Present Poker Table??
Kiwi Poker League is selling off some of our old poker tables to make way for some new equipment next year. They are much loved and well used but they are still your old favourite Kiwi Poker League tables.
The majority of them are ripped or damaged on the black padding rest around the table however the felt is intact and in reasonable shape on pretty much all of them. Prices start from $100 and will depend on the condition of the individual table. Pick up only from Dunedin on a first come first served basis, when they are gone they’re gone, cash or direct bank transfer accepted.
If you are keen, give me a shout to arrange.

Season 22 Regional Finals- Dunedin
Another great Kiwi Poker League final is over, thanks to everyone for making the trip to Dunedin and thanks to the Kensington for hosting another awesome event.
The Champions table came down to Tim ‘King of The Jungle’ Mockford, and Chris Wilson, Tim eventually taking it down on a king 10 to win his first champions table after being sat at the last three and coming a close 2nd last time.
The main event was fiercely contested with last seasons champion Michael Grant battling again in the last three with Grant Mclarren and Steven Reid. Grant took a dominant chip lead early on in the final table dismissing a few players but it was the short stacked Steven Reid that made a patient come back to win the day, taking it down with trip sixes.
Steven and Tim both join the group next year to head to Aussie and play off against the Pros. Will you be joining them too??? Keep battling it out for points to try and earn yourself a seat on the Champions Table. There are actually only another 4 weeks left of this season and then the next final will be towards the end of January next year, stay posted for updates.
Cheers
Kiwi Poker League season 22 Finals are to be held at the Kensington in Dunedin on Saturday 29th October at 12pm
Last Chance Qualifier starts at 12pm sharp
Champions Table starts 12pm sharp
Main Event starts 2.30pm sharp
see below to check if you qualified.
Season 21 Regional Finals- Alexandra
Well another Kiwi Poker League final is over and another successful event.
Thanks to everyone who made the effort to travel to Alexandra for the event you all made it a great day out, and thanks to the Stadium Tavern for hosting their first final’s, we look forward to seeing more events there soon.
We had over 50 players competing in the ‘last chance turbo qualifier’ 12 of whom advanced through to the main event.
The Champions table lived up to its name with it’s new deepstack form, each player starting with 10000 chips to give them the opportunity to play their best game in the hope of bagging the Champion of Champions’ first place prize trip.’
It was a well fought battle and ended up Denver Lee from Malbas in Queenstown going head to Head with Tim Mockford of Dunedin. Despite Tim’s valiant attempts from short stack, Denzil emerged the victor being crowned the Champion and winning himself a place on the next Melbourne trip.
The main event didn’t disappoint either, with 82 players competing against each other for the 2nd grand prize trip. In a whirlwind affair which saw two straight flushes, numerous donk’s, bluffs and bad beats, the final table saw Michael Grant from the Kensington in Dunedin going head to head with Eric Hooks from the host venue Stadium Tavern. An All-in push from ‘Hookse’ with a nut flush draw was unsuccessful against Michael’s top pair Jacks and after that there was no stopping Michael who played good aggressive hands with the scent of victory, finally claiming the top spot and his place on the Aussie adventure.
Who will be the next victor’s of Kiwi Poker League? Will you be joining Denver and Michael on the next trip to Aussie?? Keep battling it out for points in the league to see if you can earn a seat on the ‘Champions Table’ where you can increase your odds of winning the trip tenfold.
Melbourne 2011
So another trip to Melbourne is over, and another great success full of high stakes poker and great comedy value.
The players- Bevan, Karl, Ralph, Ken, Geoff, Phil and me.
The scene- Melbourne poker champs 2011
It all started well, they let us in to Ozzy despite Phil’s best attempts to get a strip search.
The pace was set for a big weekend of poker and fun, sadly none of us made it though the first day with Phil broome being the highest place getting knocked out around 50th out of about 150 players.
Disappointed but certainly not down we made up for our losses with some cash tourney’s and a few beers and came back the next day to tackle the smaller $125 deep stack tourney.
The standard of poker being played was impressive and again none of us placed to win with me being knocked out last in 20th.
Despite not gaining a finishing place we all came away buzzing and already wanting to come back next year for another shot. It was a great trip with a great group of guys and I am already looking forward to taking another group there next year. Will you win a ticket to join us at the next big tournament in Melbourne??
Be in it to win it, only 2 more weeks left in this season and then its finals time again at the end of June. Grab yourself a ticket to Melbourne to play poker with the pros and see if you have what it takes to win big!
The boys getting ready for the adventure, Phil ever the optimist with the shorts.
Phil, taking it seriously as ever..... go on then ... one more pina colada.
Final table at the Melbourne Champs $100k Guarantee...... now that's what I call deepstack.
